Prior to joining the NRA and APPI, Meeker served as interim executive vice president, Scientific Liaison, for the Federation of Animal Science Societies. In previous positions, he has been vice president, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, National Turkey Federation; director, Board on Agriculture and National Resources, National Academy of Sciences; associate professor, Animal Science, and coordinator of Ohio Pork Industry at Ohio State University; and vice president, Research and Education, National Pork Producers Council.
Meeker has a bachelor of science, master of science, and PhD in animal science and animal breeding from Iowa State University (ISU). He also has a master of business administration degree from ISU.
Meeker has spent several years in the Washington, DC, area and is familiar with the regulatory arena and has many good contacts with the various agencies.
