NRA Receives Funding Allocations

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Ann M. Veneman has announced fiscal year 2004 allocations for program funding. The National Renderers Association (NRA) is one of 71 U.S. trade organizations that compete for USDA/Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) funding.

For 2004, total allocations to these trade organizations is $161,267,500 to promote U.S. agricultural products overseas under the FAS Market Access Program (MAP), Foreign Market Development (FMD) Cooperator program, and Quality Samples Program (QSP). NRA was allocated $1,095,696 for the FMD program and $412,796 under the MAP program. The allocations for the QSP program are still pending.

The amounts allocated are nearly flat compared with last year at about a half per-cent reduction. However, it is an approximate $50,000 increase over two years ago.
