New officers were elected for a two-year term at the National Renderers Association (NRA) 74th annual convention in October in Miami, FL.
Michael Reiser, director of marketing for Valley Proteins, was elected NRA chairman. He previously served as chairman of the NRA International Market Development Committee for 13 years. Reiser succeeds David Kaluzny II, Kaluzny Bros.
Tragically, though, two weeks after taking office, Reiser passed away unexpectedly while on business in Costa Rica. Following his death, the NRA Board of Directors voted Michael Koewler, president of SRC Companies and a fourth generation renderer, who was elected first vice chairman at the convention, as chairman, and Kevin Golding, president of Rothsay, a member of Maple Leaf Foods, Inc., in Canada, who was elected second vice chairman, as first vice chairman.
The board voted J.J. Smith, Valley Proteins, as second vice chairman.
More information on Reiser’s passing can be found here.
