New Book is Truly Essential

It began in 1978 with Rendering, The Invisible Industry, and was followed nearly 20 years later by The Original Recyclers. Now, with so much change experienced by the rendering industry during the last 10 years, it was only logical to release a new industry book, Essential Rendering.

Edited by Dr. David L. Meeker, vice president, Scientific Services, National Renderers Association (NRA), this new book will be available by the end of October 2006. Essential Rendering was produced jointly by NRA, the Fats and Proteins Research Foundation, and the Animal Protein Producers Industry under the direction of the NRA Communications Committee.

Since the 1950s, the rendering industry has undergone remarkable and profound changes in technological applications and business structure. Essential Rendering documents details of rendering’s important roles, the history of the industry, how rendering is accomplished, as well as the many nutritional and other uses of rendered products. The book documents the technologies, manufacturing procedures, capabilities, research, and infrastructure that have made the industry so important to U.S. and Canadian agriculture. Essential Rendering is intended for professionals in rendering and affiliated businesses and industries as well as teachers, students, and government officials who are interested in the North American rendering industry. The professional hardback book contains over 300 pages of thorough information from highly regarded sources and industry experts.

For customers in the United States and Canada, each book is $30, including standard ground shipping and handling. The book is also available in volume – a carton of 20 books is $400, including standard ground shipping and handling (a savings of 33 percent). Express or overnight shipping is available for an additional fee.

For customers outside the United States and Canada, additional shipping costs will be calculated depending on location and speed of delivery.
